Free and Open Source Software

There are many excellent free programs available for download. Some can even run from a flash drive ready to use at work when you can't download programs to your school computer. The links below have been found through computer magazines, technology journals and many online resources that review and link to programs of interest. To download it is essential you don't download from just anywhere. Makeuseof.com has a nice list of open source software websites published July 15, 2015. It is highly suggested that you consider installing Web of Trust (WOT) and/or McAfee Site Advisor as a source of information about the safety of a web site. Where possible platform requirements are noted. As all of these programs are not tested, any that don't meet educational needs should be brought to my attention. Your opinions will matter to others exploring the world of free/open source software. NOTE: All links open in a new tab or window depending on your browser.
